Douglas Volkswagen in Summit, NJ, is thrilled to host a Puppy and Dog Adoption Day event to find homes for cute canines saved by The Home for Good Dog Rescue on Saturday, June 3rd, from 12-5pm.
Get ready for a woof-tacular time as The Home for Good Dog Rescue brings its pups who are ready to find their furever home. The nonprofit rescue does require all family members and household dogs attend the event before adoption can take place. If you’re looking for a new four-legged family member, this event is the one for you. Join us and meet some of these adorable dogs looking!
This will be an indoor event with A/C and offer a Private room for you and your family to visit with your potential new puppy or dog.

The Home for Good Dog Rescue is a 100% foster-based, non-profit 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization established in 2010 in Summit, NJ, with offices in Berkeley Heights. They socialize, care for, and provide rescue for dogs with life-saving medical care at their Wellness Center in Aiken, SC, transport the dogs to NJ, and nurture them in the organization’s network of foster families while waiting for adoption into loving homes and getting a second chance at life.
This nonprofit has rescued over 10,000 dogs from deplorable and dangerous environments, including high-kill shelters, hoarding situations, and abusive conditions, such as in-breeding and puppy mills, neglect and abuse. They give hope and purpose to the dogs they save and the families who have been enriched through fostering and adoption.

If you’re ready to adopt, you’ll first need to submit an application. Please allow at least 30 minutes to complete the adoption application. Since this is an email form, there is no way to partially save it. You must complete the form entirely before it will save successfully.
Prior to completing this adoption application, please note the following:
- Applications take a minimum of 3-5 BUSINESS days to be fully processed. Please do not call for status updates on your application if it has not been longer than this time period.
- All communication regarding adoption applications is done via EMAIL, not by phone.
- An immediate “application received” email is NOT SENT upon completion of the application. An email will be sent to you once a volunteer has begun processing your application (this can take 3-5 days).
- If you submit an application the morning of an adoption event (or shortly prior) and do not receive an approval DO NOT EXPECT TO TAKE A DOG HOME that day.
- If you receive an adoption application approval and fail to bring your entire family and (if you have) canine to an adoption event NO DOG WILL BE RELEASED TO YOUR FAMILY.
- Applications are processed based on AGE-GROUP, not specific dog. Therefore, if your application is approved and the dog you are interested in has since been adopted, your approval is good for any dog on our website within the AGE GROUP you were approved for.
- Applications are valid for a 3-MONTH-PERIOD. If you received an approval more than 3 months ago, please submit a new application.
- As a 100%-foster-based dog rescue, WE DO NOT HAVE A SHELTER FACILITY. All dogs reside in temporary foster homes in NJ until adopted.
