  • The adoption fee is $185 for cats under 6 months and $160 for cats older than 6 months. The combined adoption donation will be reduced by $50 when adopting more than one cat.

  • All of our cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, FIV/FeLV tested and maintain regular deworming and flea/tick prevention. Interested families can apply on our website www.pittiepartyrescue.com/adopt.

Pittie Party Rescue FAQ

  • Can I take home a cat today?
    • No, we do not do same day adoptions. All potential adopters must fill out an adoption application and be approved before they can take home an animal. Applications typically take about a week to process. We want to make sure that all of our animals go to responsible and loving homes, and it takes time to confirm housing status, contact references, etc.
  • What is the adoption application process?
    1. Apply to adopt at pittiepartyrescue.com.
    2. Applications typically take one week to process. An adoptions coordinator will contact you via email with any questions about your application.
    3. Once you are approved, you are approved for any available cat in the rescue.
    4. An adoptions coordinator will work with you to determine which animals would be the best fit for your family. This may include a virtual meet-and-greet or a scheduled visit at our adoption center.
    5. Once you have been matched with a cat, you will sign an adoption contract and schedule an adoption day.
  • What is the adoption fee?
    • Our adoption fee is $185 for cats under 6 months and $160 for cats older than 6 months. The combined adoption donation will be reduced by $50 when adopting more than one cat.
  • At what age can a kitten be adopted?
    • Kittens must be spayed or neutered before they can go to their forever homes. They can safely be spayed/neutered at 2 pounds of body weight, which is typically between 2-3 months of age.
  • Do you have to adopt in pairs?
    • No, you do not have to adopt in pairs. We prioritize applicants who adopt in pairs or who already have animals at home, but we do adopt out single cats.
  • What do the cats come with?
    • When our cats are adopted out they are altered, tested for FIV/FeLV, microchipped, given dewormer and topical flea/tick preventative, and are up to date on age appropriate vaccinations. We will provide all adopters with up to date medical records and microchip registration confirmation.
  • Are these the only cats you have available?
    • No, we have many more cats and kittens who are currently in foster homes. The best place to see all of our adult cats is on PetFinder! Our available kittens are usually not on our PetFinder because they get adopted so quickly. Once you have an approved application for a kitten, we will send you the information on who is currently available.
  • Can I meet a cat?
    • Currently due to Covid, we are having meet and greets by appointment only for approved adopters. Please fill out an adoption application on our website pittiepartyrescue.com.
  • Where do you get your cats from?
    • Our cats come from all over! We have relationships with several municipal shelters and we often pull cats from them, good samaritans sometimes contact us when they find friendly cats outside, some of our cats are surrendered from owners who could no longer care for them, and some are rescued from the local community.
  • Are you a shelter?
    • No, we are a foster-based nonprofit organization that relies entirely on donations to function. All of our cats live in our foster's homes while they are waiting for their forever homes.
  • Do the cats live at PetSmart all the time?
    • Nope. Cats in the 24/7 adoption habitat are only here for a short amount of time so the public can meet them outside of our weekend adoption days. After they have been in the center for a little while they will go back to their foster home!
  • Can you help me with this cat?/Can I surrender this cat to you?
    • Email us at [email protected]. We rely completely on donations and volunteers to function, so our ability to help changes all the time. We will do our best to help and if we can't we will refer you to other resources.
  • How do I foster/volunteer?
